How to Manage Background Noise
iSee is at its best when everyone is using a stereo headset with an integrated microphone. These headsets are specifically designed to minimize background noises and provide high quality stereo sound. Encouraging people to obtain and plug in a headset and seek a quiet area should be the first line of noise management. Mobile phone hands free earphones are widely available and a big step forward for managing background noise if plugged into a computer.
If some people don't have head sets or background noise is still excessive even with a headset, there are other techniques you can use to manage background noise. Encourage noisy users to switch on 'Push to Talk' from the top right hand drop down menu. They can also mute their own microphone by clicking on the microphone icon in the top right menu bar.
If individual users are being deliberately disruptive and are unresponsive to suggestion, they can be either muted or ejected by the session organizer using the users tab in the left middle of the iSee window.
